TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the penal law and the general business
law, in relation to banning the possession, sale or manufacture of
assault weapons; and to repeal subdivision 22 of section 265.00 of the
penal law relating thereto
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: To expand and improve New York State's
ban on military-style assault weapons.
SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1 describes the justification
for this legislation and the danger posed by semi-automatic assault
